Pre-announcement: Bilateral collaboration JST-ANR based on CREST program

For the 2026 edition, ANR is renewing its collaboration agreement with the JST (Japanese science and technology agency) under the framework of the CREST programme. Two CREST Research Areas are set as common priority research areas:

[Symbiotic AI Interdisciplinary System] Creation of Interdisciplinary System Foundation for a Symbiotic and Collaborative Society with Humans and AI

[Prediction Mathematical Foundation] Creation of Mathematical Foundation for Prediction and Control

The projects proposals should be led by a Japanese PI and a French PI and will be evaluated via a peer-review procedure by JST and ANR.

This cooperation is open to public and private partners (the French consortium must consist of at least one public law entity carrying out research and/or teaching activities or one private law entity carrying out research and teaching activities, with an establishment or branch in France).

The ANR will fund French teams up to 500 k€ per project, depending on the number of partners and the ambition of the project, for a maximum duration of 5 years.

The ANR’s deadlines are expected to be as follows: opening April 2026 and submission deadline June 2026.
