Integrating environmental, economic and social perspectives in assessing the performance of agroecology. Value-chain and policy implications. AGROECOLOGY Partnership: Second transnational call

The AGROECOLOGY Partnership, funded by the European Union as part of Horizon Europe, which unites the European Commission and 72 partners across 26 Member States, is a research and innovation program aiming to quicken agroecological transition by developing a network of living labs and research infrastructures, enabling the production of innovative solutions with a multi-stakeholder approach and a real-world experimentation.

This call focuses on the performance of agroecology, under different aspects: evaluating this performance in its various dimensions, quantifying environmental impacts, transforming value chains, and contributing to the design of public policies to better support the transition. The partnership will fund R&I projects providing significant contributions to the scope of the call either by developing new methods and technologies or by providing analyses on agroecology’s sustainability dimension.

This partnership will fund Research and Innovation projects making significative contributions to the scope of the present call either by developing new methods and technologies, or bringing analyses on sustainable dimensions of agroecology. They have to use methods inspired by “living labs”.

The call is composed of two main topics:

• Topic 1: Determine and assess benefits/impacts and trade-offs of agroecology, and identify best practices
   
• Topic 2: Transform value chains, businesses and policies to facilitate the transition to agroecology

Participating countries are Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Iceland, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Türkiye. Consortias must include at least three eligible partners from at least three contributing countries.
