7th Transnational Call on Collaborative Research in Computational Neurosciences (CRCNS)

ANR launches in collaboration with NSF and NIH (USA), BMBF (Germany) and BSF (Israel) a call for research and data sharing projects in computational neuroscience.

This call concerns an opening of the NSF program “Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience » (CRCNS) as detailed in the document “Sollicitation 18-501”.

This program emphasizes innovative research and resources, encouraging the application and development of state-of-the-art computational methods by theorists, computational scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and statisticians to tackle dynamic and complex neuroscience problems. It also emphasizes data and software sharing.

Binational as well as multinational projects can be submitted. The consortium must comprise at least one French partner and one American partner and can additionally include German and/or Israeli partners.

The proposals will be evaluated according to NSF evaluation procedures in association with ANR and the other partner agencies of the programme.

Each agency funds the partners in the respective country, according to its own national rules.

Opening : 2018-09-18 at 17:13 CEST
Application Deadline : 2018-11-27 at 17:00 CET

General information

The document « Appendix for French participants » introduces the modalities of the opening of the program ‘Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience: Innovative Approaches to Science and Engineering Research on Brain Function’ (CRCNS) to French-US projects. The instructions for French participants are complementary to the instructions of NSF “Solicitation 18-501”.

Submission Modalities

The investigators prepare a project written in English to be submitted to NSF. The project description must include the financial form to be completed by the French participants and sent as an additional document together with the submission to NSF. The financial form is available on this webpage.

In parallel to the project submission, the French participants must notify the submission to ANR by E-mail ( & before December 4, 2018.
