Résumé

The EQUIPEX MUSIC is a multimodal platform for the development of the understanding and treatment of electrical disease of the heart. It is part of a larger program: the IHU Liryc. Both projects are conducted under the IDEX of the University of Bordeaux. The first phase of MUSIC included the construction of the lab and the installation of all equipment. It has been extended to Jan 31st 2015. The equipment were installed at the end of 2013 except for the Carto system which was only acquired at the end of 2014. In 2015, we also got access to the Rhythmia mapping system.

All the equipment are functioning nominally. This lab has been used to treat patients and generate enough data to build a software processing different type of images. This software is now used to define precisely the anatomy and the structural and electrical substrate to better diagnose and treat patients suffering from different cardiac arrhythmias. A server has been set up, allowing partners to upload raw computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, which are processed in less than 24 hours. Multiparametric models are then sent back to them to be loaded into their catheter navigation system. More than 1850 patients have been treated with MUSIC software including more than 750 abroad. This successful initiative has resulted in the creation of a software consortium of 30 centres over the world (US, Europe and Australia – MUSIC Software Consortium) which are using it regularly to guide electrophysiological procedures. In addition, the lab is regularly used for teaching purpose and 180 cardiologists attend cases in the lab in 2019.

Presentations at international scientific meetings (HRS, Europace, Atrial signals, VT symposium, Signal summit, Together VT…etc.) have generated enthusiasm and helped to create synergy within the cardiology community.
