– ID-PRESERVED
Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) is a type of heart failure where the heart muscle pumps blood less efficiently than it should, even though a normal amount of blood is being pumped out with each heartbeat (as measured by the ejection fraction). This can lead to symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, and difficulty exercising. HFpEF is becoming more common all over the world, and it is hard to treat because there aren't many medicines that work well for it. This is because there are many different causes for this condition and it is hard to find a treatment that works for everyone. The ID-PRESERVED project build upon the idea that that too much inflammation plays a central role in HFPEF, which can be targeted to improve the way we treat this disorder. The project will put together a group of experts from different European countries to test this idea. Our goal is to find new ways to reduce inflammation and treat HFpEF. This research could lead to big improvements in our understanding of this condition and how to treat it.
