Reactive distillation concept with heterogeneous enzymatic catalysis (a step forward hybrid process) – CENDRHe

Submission summary

The general objective of the CENDHRé project is to develop a new intensified process coupling reaction and separation based on the concept of reactive distillation using a heterogeneous enzymatic catalyst. Of great interest on paper, there are very few examples that go beyond process simulation. The constraints linked to the heterogenization of enzymes and their handling (temperature, mechanical strength, etc.) make the implementation of heterogeneous enzymatic reactive distillation complex. To achieve the objective, the CENDHRé project proposes to: develop a reactive milli-distillation tool, functionalize the internals of distillation columns for different scale, implement at a pilot scale reactive distillation in trans-esterification and provide prospects for an integration of several catalytic functions in DR (enzyme / chemistry coupling).
