Universite de Lyon Doctoral Program in AI – IADoc@UdL
In 2018, The Université de Lyon, with its institutional members and the scientific federation "Computer science in Lyon", jointly led a thorough study that identified the numerous strengths and assets of the local academic players on Artificial Intelligence and its societal outcomes. The Université de Lyon scientific strategy aims to address several major issues in the strategic sectors identified in the French National Strategy for AI and to articulate locally launched actions with operations coordinated at a broader national or international scale. Therefore, more than 2.6 Million euro were targeted towards AI related projects by the Université de Lyon through the IDEXLYON project in 2018 and 2019, in addition to the direct actions taken by its member institutions. The present IADoc@UdL program fully participates in this synergetic strategy by launching 22 doctoral theses on AI in two phases (Autumn 2019 and Autumn 2020).
