Cycling applied research common laboratory – ReApCy
Cycling performance requires developing both high-level technologies and sport sciences knowledge in psychophysiology and biomechanics. The Groupama-FDJ professional UCI world Tour team has developed in collaboration to its equipment sponsors a Research & Development Dpt to optimize the performance level of their athletes. However, this Dpt would like to increase its development by including new scientific methods which could investigate the psychophysiological and biomechanics responses of the athletes during exercise in relation to their cycling equipment (bicycle, helmets, clothing, …) and in different environmental conditions (hot, cold, wind, humidity…). The Dpt Sport Performance of the C3S Laboratory (EA 4660) has developed since many years a large scientific background in this complex research area and could afford valuable solutions. Therefore, the creation of a common laboratory could be a great challenge to develop new 1) R&D programme for the Groupama-FDJ Cycling team and 2) sport sciences background for academic research.
