Thermochromic ink – Th INK
The project Th INK (on 24 momths) concerns the development of an ink-based thermochromic pigment, with a prototype. The project manager Th INK is the Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry of Bordeaux (ICMCB, UPR 9048), which possesses a know-how around the thermochromic pigment, associated with the team of Science and Technology Graphics LGP2 (Lab Papermaking Process Engineering) INP Grenoble-Pagora, which has developed a research activity on the printing process and the associated inks, and particularly in the field of inkjet printing. The two laboratories ICMCB and LGP2 are quite complementary to carry out this multidisciplinary project. FIST SA will bring vision market and use sub-contractors (or OLIKROM AGEPHI) relieve researchers of repetitive and non-value added science and technology. Today, the transition from concept to feasibility laboratory is possible. The ICMCB will formulate different pigments used in ink by the LGP2. Each laboratory will push the characterization of its products in order to understand the fundamental aspects of the formulations and their properties in different environments (liquid phases, after drying and after switching). These experiments will help understand the changes of properties related to the change of environment and successive formulations offer an industrial demonstrator. The project also includes a special section full recovery. Two overarching objectives are referred to the Industrial Research: i) implement a demonstration relevant to meet criteria for accepting customers, and ii) combine the key elements of recovery during the project to optimize the concession license. ANR funding will allow us to bring to maturity of our invention and innovation process.
