A new agreement to facilitate ANR-NSF cooperation
During the French President's state visit to the United States of America at the beginning of February, Geneviève Fioraso, Minister for Higher Education and Research (MESR), presided over the signing of four Franco-American cooperative agreements. These included an agreement to facilitate the cooperation and funding of joint research projects between the National Science Foundation (NSF) and ANR. Since 2009, more than 40 research projects involving French and American researchers have been co-funded by ANR and the NSF.
AErosol RadiatiOn and CLOuds in Southern Africa – AEROCLO-SA
The representation of cloud-aerosol-radiation interaction remain one of the largest uncertainties in climate change, limiting our ability to accurately reconstruct and predict future climate change. In the South East Atlantic, high atmospheric aerosol loadings and semi-permanent stratocumulus cloud are co-located. The area isa unique natural laboratory for studying the full range of aerosol-radiation and aerosol-cloud interactions and their perturbations of the Earth’s radiation budget.
ANR-NSF French-American calls for proposals in the fields of chemistry and materials
In the framework of the ANR-NSF collaboration in the fields of chemistry and materials, two French-American calls for proposals will be launched in the Blanc International I programme which will open at the beginning of October and close at the end of January. ANR's and NSF's programme schedules are different. The MWN and ICC calls for proposals of the NSF are already open.
