Living Together: Society and urbanism of an antique City of Italy. – VESUVIA
The aim of the project is to conduct an innovative archaeological study mobilizing all available sources, From the 18th c. the site has been excavated by a system of tunnels whose objective was to recover artefacts, works of art, antique decor elements to feed the collections of the kings of Naples. The archaeological study of Herculaneum therefore requires first to discover the context of all elements of material culture.
Microwave assisted Milligel synthesis under continuous Flow – MIMIFLOW
Novel dosage forms of active species are strongly demanded for drug delivery. Polymer-based drug depots, which degrade in-vivo during a predefined time and dose are a promising strategy and will be investigated in MIMIFLOW. The syntheses will be performed in microwave reactors, with a dedicated focus on millifluidic continuous-flow systems in order to produce polymer networks with defined shapes and geometries for their specific applications.
Social interpretations of object-signs of Alpine jades in Neolithic Europe. – JADE 2
The Jade 2 project, which follows the ANR Jade (2007-2010, dir. by P. Pétrequin) is an anthropological approach of the find contexts of axes and rings-discs of Alpine jades circulating in Europe during the fifth and fourth millennia BC. It is to understand the variations of the interpretations of these remarkable object-signs from production centers (Western Alps and Piedmont) to the outskirts of Europe of Jade (between the Atlantic and the Black Sea).
Adaptation strategies and bio-economic regulations in fragile environment: the role of the "desert kites" – GLOBALKITES
GLOBALKITES focuses on defining variability and functionality of major archaeological stone-made structures called «desert kites«. Often considered as hunting traps, the kites could have been also used for animal domestication. In a broader spatial context (from Arabia to Caucasus) and temporal one (from the Neolithic to present), we propose an interdisciplinary approach at the crossings of anthropology, geomatics and archaeological sciences.

Accounting privileges in Europe, XVth-XIXth c.: a quantitative and comparative study – PRIVILEGES
The project PRIVILEGES aims at building a better understanding of the way the privilege as an institution in Europe, over the longue durée of its development, contributed to the mobilization and allocation of resources ; of the expectations and goals it helped achieve for both economic agents and public authorities ; and of the economic, business and spatial dynamics which it generated or butressed.
Sex chromosome and sex determination evolution in mammals – SEXYMUS
Except a few species, mammals have an extremely conserved sex determining system. However, within the African pygmy mice (genus Mus), we uncovered an extraordinary diversity of sex chromosomes. This diversity and their phylogenetic proximity with the laboratory mouse make them an excellent model. Hence, in the SEXYMUS project, we will investigate the evolution of mammalian sex determination and the evolutionary modification of sex chromosomes using the pygmy mice as proxies.
Interactive Atlas of the Ancient Adriatic – AdriAtlas
This project offers a computerized Atlas of ancient Adriatic, made up of a database connected to an interactive map, available for online consultation. This atlas will be consistent with the current status of knowledge on the Adriatic area, from the end of the Bronze Age (XIth c. B.C.) up to late Antiquity (VIIIth c. A.D.).
