Mechanism of interaction of subgroup B2 adenovirus to the desmosomal cadherin DSG2 and applications – Ad-Cadh
In this ANR, we address three major work-packages consisting of (i) the biochemical and biophysical mapping of the domains of interaction between viruses and their receptor, (ii) the resolution of the atomic structure of the complex they form by cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography and (iii) the study of their bio-distribution in mice after modification or not of the natural tropism.
Microscale spatiotemporal investigation of multi-species electroactive biofilms using optical microfluidic platform – MICROBE
Electroactive microbial biofilms are electrochemical biocatalysts capable of extracting the chemical energy contained in a wide range of organic substrates (effluents, biowaste, biomass, etc.) in the form of a flow of electrons (electric current). However, in the case of electroactive biofilms, the «multispecies« character gives biofilms a complexity that no one is currently able to master.
MEtal GlAsses functionalization by ultrashort Laser-Induced topology and phase Transition – MEGALIT
The objective of the MEGALIT project is to explore the potential for improving the surface functionalities of metallic glasses (MG) known for their exceptional mechanical properties (close to those of metal) and their surface quality (similar to that of glass), in order to replace existing complex solutions with a mono to multifunctional material coating approach.
Pre-announcement: transnational call for proposals on cardiovascular diseases through ERA-CVD
The ANR has teamed up with the ERA-CVD ERA-NET to launch a fourth joint transnational call for proposals for research projects in cardiovascular diseases, driven by early career scientists. Fifteen countries are participating in this call for proposals: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Taiwan, The Netherlands.

Cultural policies, local heritage and collaborative approaches in Eastern Insulindia – POPEI-coll
POPEI-coll aims at strengthening the dialogue between cultural policies, science and local heritage. The collaborative research in East Indonesia and East Timor seeks to analyse cultural policy arenas and to compare local and scientific representations of local heritage. They aim to identify various mechanisms for collaborative development, awareness raising on the issue of local heritage, and transfer of know-how.

Elucidating the role and regulation of heterochromatin during maize reproduction, and its potential for developing novel plant breeding strategies. – CHROMOBREED
. Maize is a key crop worldwide, and an exceptional model to address the interplay between genetics [...] mutants affecting epigenetic determinants, and an exceptional cytology. This project relies on a collection
Hybrid Van der Waals heterostructures for vertical, permeable-base organic transistors. – VdW-OPBT
Layered heterostructures integrating 2D materials such as graphene or TMD and nanometer-scale layers of inorganic materials are attracting considerable attention since a few years. Organic materials remain however poorly explored in this context, in particular for ultra-thin layers down to the single molecule level. Mixed-dimensional, hybrid heterostructures have a lot to offer in terms of interface physics in fields.
