ERA-MIN 2 - Raw materials for sustainable development and circular economy
In the framework of ERA-NET Cofund ERA-MIN2, the French National Research Agency (ANR) launches, in partnership with 21 funding agencies from 18 different countries, a second call for projects on non-agricultural non-energy raw materials. The global budget available for this call is 10 M€.
Shaping inequalities or building social bonds? Ceremonial economy under and after socialism in Central Asia (1960s-2020s) – CEREMONIAC
The Ceremoniac project aims to analyse and understand the rationales behind the inflation of ceremonial expenditure in Central Asian societies from the end of the Soviet period until today. It aims at questioning the production or reinforcement of inequalities, generated by these practices while they remain powerful vectors of social cohesion.
New Antibiotics Tackling mUlti-Resistance by acting on Alternative bacteriaL tARgets in Synergy with mEmbrane-disruptiNg AntimicrobiaL peptides. – NATURAL-ARSENAL
Understanding the mode of action of new natural antibiotics in synergy with membrane-destabilizing antimicrobial peptides
Vectorization of iridium(III) complexes using siderophore surrogates : a Trojan horse strategy against Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria – VECTRIUM
Resistance to bacterial infections is a major health problem that will increase in the coming decades. The quest for alternatives to conventional antibiotic therapies is therefore necessary. In this context, the use of light to kill bacteria is an emerging strategy. Targeting the bacterial iron uptake pathways will focus the deleterious action of light on pathogens and reducing the impact on the cells of the infected patient.
Autophagy, Proteases and plant PErformaNces – hAPPEN
The use of nitrogen fertilizers is costly, releases greenhouse gases, and pollutes water. To reduce the use of these fertilizers, which are essential for plant production and quality, it is envisaged to increase the performance of nitrogen recycling and organ-to-organ remobilization. In aging organs, a finely coordinated and regulated degradation is orchestrated by the targeted activity of autophagic machinery and proteases. The project studies their roles efficient nitrogen remobilization.

Origin and consequences of asexuality in Mesorhabditis nematodes – Pseudogamy
We discovered the previously unrecognized reproductive strategy of the nematode Mesorhabitis belari, called auto-pseudogamy, which features progressive loss of males and sexuality. We will use species of the Mesorhabditus genus, with or without sexual reproduction, to explore the cellular origins and the genomic consequences of auto-pseudogamy. We will use our combined expertise in evolutionary cell biology and population genetics, on a study system that offers many experimental advantages.
Ultrafast Non Linear Optics in liquid Crystals – UNLOC
The main objective of the UNLOC proposition is the development of a new experimental facility, dedicated to ultrafast nonlinear optics in novel and complex materials. Composed of an energetic femtosecond source, temporal shaping through OPA and/or post-compression systems and adequate spectroscopic tools, it will be devoted to the study of liquid crystals (LC) in two mesophases, and extended to photorefractive materials.
