Uncovering verb-second effects. An interface-based typology. – UV2
Germanic languages, with the major exception of Modern English, are characterized by the regular occurrence of the finite verb in second position in main clauses, a property known as ‘verb second’ (V2). Taking Germanic V2 to be part of a wider set of V2 effects occurring in other languages, the project sets out to investigate a typologically diverse set of languages displaying V2 effects.

Material Culture of Babylonia during the 1st millenium B.C. – MCB
The rich textual data from the Neo-Babylonian Empire in the 6th century BC illustrates processes of manufacturing of artefacts which have not been preserved in their archaeological context. This body of virtual data is exceptional for such an early period. The textual data can be cross-referenced with preserved archaeological data to understand the identity and techniques of those who made them, and how furniture and tools were used.

MEtal GlAsses functionalization by ultrashort Laser-Induced topology and phase Transition – MEGALIT
The objective of the MEGALIT project is to explore the potential for improving the surface functionalities of metallic glasses (MG) known for their exceptional mechanical properties (close to those of metal) and their surface quality (similar to that of glass), in order to replace existing complex solutions with a mono to multifunctional material coating approach.
