In the Mirror of the European Neighbourhood (Policy): Mapping Macro-Regional Imaginations. – IMAGEUN
By involving the proponents of two currents of geography in the same consortium, «theoretical and quantitative«, and regional analysis on the French side and critical geopolitics on the German side, the theoretical objective of this project aims to contribute to the analysis of macro-regions through the dialogue between these traditions which rarely work together for the study of the same object.
Bio-relevant anion radicals excited states dynamics study in solution by pump–repump–probe spectroscopy – Rad3P
Ionizing radiation produces ultrafast reactive species such as solvated electrons and radical anions of biomolecules. Their excited states may trigger dissociative electron attachment (DEA), a potential pathway for DNA damage. Understanding these states requires a new experimental approach that combines electron pulses with femtosecond spectroscopy in solution. RAD3P aims to overcome this gap.
Towards an Electric Dipole Moment (EDM) with atoms and molecules in Matrix (EDMMA) – EDMMA
EDMs are probes of choice for new sources of CP violation, complementary to accelerators. EDMMA developed a platform of Cs atoms trapped in cryogenic matrices (rare gases and parahydrogen): high density, inert environment, and optical addressing of 6s–6p transitions. The project aimed to identify trapping sites and relaxation/photobleaching mechanisms, then prepare spin readout (microwave/ESR) for future EDM measurements.
Understanding, using and mitigating seafloor seismological noise – BRUIT-FM

French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (FPCEU): ANR actions and events
The French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (FPCEU), being held from 1 January to 30 June 2022, is a major opportunity to strengthen the exposure of the French and European Higher education, research and innovation (HERI) community. In this context, more than 70 labelled events by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) are held by organisations, operators or institutions. The French National Research Agency (ANR) organises and takes part in several FPCEU-labelled events. This is an opportunity to review the actions and instruments implemented by the ANR to strengthen European scientific collaborations.
Transnational call for proposals between Europe and China in the ERA-NET Cofund "Urban Accessibility and Connectivity"
In the framework of the ERA-NET Cofund Urban Accessibility and Connectivity (EN-UAC), the ANR is launching, in collaboration with 8 European countries and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), a call for proposals , to fund research and innovation projects with the aim of developing policies for more sustainable urban mobility.
Microbial aquatic roommates: Woesearchaeota and photosynthetic organisms in a lake – MARWEL
Woesearchaeota: ubiquitous and abundant microorganisms with still enigmatic lifestyles, ecology, and contributions to ecosystem functioning
European research funding programmes: The ANR’s actions to improve French participation
European research and innovation framework programmes, such as Horizon Europe, provide unique funding opportunities for France and its research teams. That is why the Ministry of Higher Education and Research rolled out a National Action Plan to improve French participation in these programmes: the PAPFE. An overview of the actions proposed by the French National Research Agency (ANR) within the framework of this plan, with two schemes created in 2022.
