The TALAN project aims to explore the potential of the thioacid / azide ligation (TAL) (and in particular the sulfo-click reaction, involving a thioacid and a sulfonyl-azide function) as a new DNA templated bioorthogonal chemical ligation in order to provide a new tool for the detection and quantification of nucleic acids in a biological medium.
In this project, we are developping a flexible synthetic strategy to access various natural products from two diterpenoid families. This approach will grant us access to substantial amount of various natural products. Their bioactivities will be further studied in the context of future collaborations.

Although multifactorial, male infertility has a strong genetic basis, which has so far not been extensively studied. Previous work permitted to characterize and publish causative mutations in 9 genes. Here, the same consortium will leverage the previously acquired expertise and tools to further investigate the molecular basis of flagellogenesis and to translate this knowledge into actionable information and strategies to improve diagnosis and care of infertile patients.

Developing tools for amyloid fibrils analysis at early stage able to discriminate the different population of oligomers and protofibrils and to evaluate the impact of promoters or inhibitors through amyloid shape analysis is particularly important to understand the external factor on Alzheimer disease. Our project aims at proposing a new analytical method based on nanopore technology to study the Aß42 amyloid fibril growth.
