Visit to the ANR of NSF Director

Jacqueline Lecourtier, Director General of the French National Research Agency welcomed the new director of the National Science Foundation, Prof. Subra Suresh, on May 16th, 2011. The meeting was the opportunity to review the cooperation between the ANR and the NSF.

Considering the strength of the scientific collaborations between France and the United States, there are relatively few French-US projects that are actually funded. Both agencies agreed upon strengthening their partnership according to several schemes of cooperation that are currently under discussion. Two workshops will be organised in 2011, one in France and another one in the US, gathering the ANR's and NSF's programme directors and aiming at defining new cooperation frameworks.
