Global security: 14th edition of WISG, held online on 25 and 26 January 2022

Cryptography, terrorism and Covid-19
This year, WISG will focus on three major issues in global security research: cryptography and digital security; the study mechanisms and pitfalls of terrorism; and the Covid-19 pandemic. The programme includes presentations of research projects, statements from researchers and institutional players, round table discussions including “Terrorism and radicalisation: the state of research in the social sciences and humanities”, a scientific poster session and a “Speed-posters – My poster in 2 minutes tops!” competition.
Specific calls and initiatives to support security research
Half a day will be devoted to the specific calls and initiatives launched by ANR and/or its counterparts on a variety of themes in order to inform and support the players concerned in their applications. These include the ASTRID and ASTRID Maturation programmes funded by the Defence Innovation Agency (AID) and operated by ANR, together with bilateral calls such as the bilateral French-German call on protecting privacy in cyberspace and the call on preparations and rapid responses to biological threats.
WISG is organised by ANR in collaboration with the General Directorate for Research and Innovation (DGRI) and the General Secretariat for Defence and National Security (SGDSN). It will take place online on Tuesday 25 January 2022 from 9 am to 5.30 pm and Wednesday 26 January from 8.30 am to 2 pm.
