Launching of an international call for proposals in Computational Neuroscience
Computational neuroscience provides a theoretical foundation and a rich set of technical approaches for understanding complex neurobiological systems, building on the theory, methods, and findings of computer science, neuroscience, and numerous other disciplines (biology, mathematics…).
In order to support international collaborations in this area the ANR is joining the NSF, the NIH (USA), the BMBF (Germany), the BSF (Israel), the NICT (Japan), the AEI and the ISCIII (Spain), to launch a 7th transnational call for proposals in computational neuroscience under the CRNCS program.
Supporting collaborative research and data sharing
The call for proposals will support collaborative research that will advance the understanding of nervous system structure and function, mechanisms underlying nervous system disorders, and computational strategies used by the nervous system. Two types of proposals will be considered: research proposals describing collaborative research projects, and data sharing proposals to enable sharing data and other resources.
Binational as well as multinational projects can be submitted. The project consortia must include at least one French partner and one US partner, and can additionally include German and/or Israeli partners.
