The ARPON project aims to develop a navigation strategy enabling a robot to autonomously navigate through a commercial orchard. Since GPS information cannot be used due to the canopy, the strategy relies on visual data provided by multiple onboard cameras for path generation and tracking. By the end of the project, the robot travelled nearly 800 meters in a commercial orchard, successfully validating the expected proof of concept.
