Modulating gene expression by nucleus positioning in mouse oocytes – NuPos
Study of the biological significance of nuclear centering in the mouse oocyte.
Self-monitoring of language in production – SLIP
This project aims at uncovering the cognitive and neural bases of the process whereby speakers inspect their own speech for errors both during speech planning (internal monitoring) and articulation (external monitoring) at different linguistic levels (ranging from semantics to articulation). There theoretical accounts will be systematically assessed: comprehension-based monitoring, internal modelling based monitoring and conflict-based monitoring.

Mode of action of biosourced phytostimulants on a multi-stress signalling pathway – BioPhyt
Partner 2 has selected phytostimulants that improve root growth, N, S and P content and increase yields of some crops. <br />Partner 1 has observed that some of these phytostimulants improve the growth of the primary root of Arabidopsis growing in low Pi conditions. These phytostimulants (hereafter NatMols) therefore represent new tools to dissect the STOP1 pathway.
BodY-ControllEd robotic ProSthetic for arm amputees – BYCEPS
The lack of some active joints, the absence of sensory feedback, the complexity of the command and the consequent heavy cognitive load, lead to a rather high rate of rejection of prostheses in upper arm amputated (transhumeral) patients. For the ones still using their prosthetics, these issues limit the overall use of the device, reduce their capabilities and autonomy.
Approximating Deep Learning Accelerators – AdequateDL
AdequateDL explores how approximate computing can improve the performance of deep-learning hardware accelerators. Deep learning is very relevant in this context, since playing with the accuracy to reach adequate computations will significantly enhance energy efficiency, while keeping quality of results in a user-constrained range. Outcomes include a framework for accuracy exploration and evaluation of gains in performance per watt of the proposed adequate accelerators over CPU/GPU platforms.
Thermomorphic Polyethylene-Supported Organocatalysts for the Valorization of Biomass and CO2 – ThermoPESO
Valorizing biomass and CO2 represents great challenges and implies the development of new catalytic tools. In this context, the thermoPESO project proposes to develop organocatalysts supported on innovative polymeric supports, that facilitates their recoverability and their recycling without compromising the catalytic activity.
Molecular mechanism of transcription by influenza virus polymerase – FluTranscript
Influenza virus is a perennial threat to worldwide public health due to the morbidity and mortality that it causes, its ease of transmission and its unpredictable evolution. The influenza RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (FluPol) is the key virally encoded molecular machine that performs transcription and replication of the segmented negative-sense RNA genome. A detailed understanding of how FluPol preforms transcription can underpin the development of the next generation of anti-influenza drugs.
