Role of cAMP signalosomes in cardiomyocyte senescence and age-associated heart failure – SIGNALAGE
The increase in longevity is associated with a wider prevalence of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). While the incidence of HFpEF in terms of mortality is constantly growing, treatments remain unsuccessful because of insufficient knowledge on the mechanisms of cardiac ageing. In an original approach, our consortium proposes to develop and share appropriate models to better understand HF in the context of ageing.
Role of intracellular trafficking in the control of Immunoglobulin Receptor-mediated diseases – IDEA
Internalization of receptor-ligand complexes can either terminate or amplify and sustain receptor signaling. However, the role of endocytosis in the signaling of FcR have never been investigated. The hypothesis of the IDEA project, which is supported by our preliminary data, lift “the scientific barrier” of exclusive signaling of FcR from the plasma membrane.
Role of potassium transport in rice in securing high crop yields – RiceKTrans
Crops that use nutrients more efficiently than currently available varieties can help achieve more sustainable agriculture. Potassium (K+) is the most absorbed cationic nutrient by the plant. However, little is known about the transport proteins that mediate K+ fluxes in cereals. In the proposed project, we will study K+ efflux channels and K+ transporters that enable K+ nutrition of aerial parts in rice.
Role of the MICU1-MCU interaction in the Mitochondrial Ca2+ Regulation during ischemia-reperfusion injury – MitoCaRe
Myocardial infarction remains a frequent and disabling disease with still no therapeutic strategy to mitigate the risk of developing heart failure. The mitochondrial Ca2+ uniporter represents the key structure which controls Ca2+ entry inside mitochondria, and therefore a relevant target upstream of the mitochondrial Ca2+ overload to modulate not only cell death but also mitochondrial bioenergetics and Ca2+ homeostasis.
Role of the SAGA co-activator complex in transcription during cell differentiation in mammals – SAGA-Retina
SAGA is a coactivator complex with histone acetyl transferase activity, deubiquitinase activity, and can bind the TATA-binding protein, TBP. Using novel approaches, we recently discovered that SAGA is indispensable for the expression of the majority of genes in yeast. Little is known about the function of SAGA in mammalian cells. This project aims at better understanding the function of the SAGA complex for RNA polymerase II transcription in mammalian cells.

Adverse childhood experiences are strongly linked to psychiatric vulnerability, yet mechanisms remain unclear. Rodent studies highlight limbic plasticity, but translation to humans is limited. Anxiomonk addresses this gap by providing the first longitudinal evidence in nonhuman primates, bridging ethology and neuroimaging to uncover how early adversity alters socio-emotional and neural development.

Roles of cell adhesion and mechanics in cell and tissue polarization – POLCAM
Forward-backward polarization of single cells has been well described, but little is known about the coordinated polarization of cells within epithelial monolayers. Single cell polarization may emerge from a mechanosensitive transition of the actomyosin cytoskeleton. However, it was not clear how and to what extent this symmetry breaking is propagated in a monolayer of cells and the role played by cell-cell junctions.

ANGLAIS<br />The project focuses on how nature-related issues are brought before law courts; how the environment and animal protection are handled at judicial level by lawyers, activists and the state; how nature is ‘judicialised’ and ‘governed’ through the judiciary in different countries, and how the global debate on acknowledging some kind of rights to nature and animals is implemented in actual litigations.
