Genomic factors underlying the effect of Respiratory Viruses and Allergens in Asthma – NIRVANA
Asthma is a frequent disabling chronic respiratory disease associated with high global costs. For two environmental factors, respiratory allergens and respiratory viruses, strong association with asthma incidence or exacerbations is well documented. A few previous observations suggest that the host genotype plays an important role in the immune response of individual allergens and rhinovirus, but these studies were limited in the assessment of allergen-specific and RV-specific immune responses.
DEVELOPMENT OF CARBON MONOXIDE-RELEASING MOLECULES CONJUGATED TO POLYSACCHARIDE CARRIERS TARGETING ADIPOSE TISSUE FOR THE TREATMENT OF OBESITY – SWEET-CO
The SWEET-CO project aims to produce new compounds that could preferentially release carbon monoxide (CO) to the adipose tissue and to be used in obesity. We have named these compounds 'Glyco-CORMs'. This idea came from data from our laboratory showing that CO-releasing molecule CORM-401 given orally to mice protects against weight gain, metabolic dysfunction and inflammation caused by a high fat diet, with effects on the adipose tissue.
Correlative Scanning Precession Electron Diffraction and Atom Probe Tomography to access the 3D polycrystalline grain microstructure of nanomaterials – 3D_SPED_APT
In transmission electron microscopy acquiring a stack of diffraction patterns by moving the beam in a two-dimensional scan produces a four-dimensional dataset that contains the information related to all the overlapping grains. Besides, Atom Probe tomography (APT) provides a complete chemical description of the sample. Correlative 3D-SPED orientation mapping and atom probe tomography is expected to provide a complete characterization of materials at nano-scale.

UPscaling and heat simulations for improving the efficiency of deep GEOthermal energy – UPGEO
In France, heating networks are largely dependent on fossil fuels (42%), and deep geothermal energy represents less than 5% of the energy mix of heating networks. Deployment of geothermal energy in large cities is limited by a geological risk, difficult to predict. UPGEO will work to develop a predictive numerical tool to perform thermo-hydro-mechanical simulations and assess the performance at a given location in Ile-de-France on its geothermal potential.
Integrative study of cogNitive abilities on Social InTeractionS in Drosophila melanogaster – INSIghTS
The aim of the integrative and multi-level INSIghTS project, is to investigate the mechanisms underlying winner/loser effects, by identifying molecular mechanisms and their underlying circuitry, while in parallel exploring the impacts on future social interactions in Drosophila melanogaster.
