Energy transformation mediated by electromagnetically-driven instabilities - from astrophysics to industrial applications – MagnetDrive
how various instabilities and hydrodynamic waves (Tayler instability, Kelvin waves, boundary layers, MRI, dynamo, etc.) control energy conversion and turbulent transport in a variety of systems, from astrophysical objects to industrial technologies and processes.
Effect of non-nutritive sweeteners on vascular function: deciphering the role of the T1R sweet-taste receptors – SOSweet
Effect of non-nutritive sweeteners on vascular function: deciphering the role of the T1R sweet-taste receptors.
Tridimensional micro-conveyance systems for micro-factory – ALVEO
The objective of the ALVEO project is to develop systems able to perform three-dimensional conveyance tasks in a micro-factory context. This micro-conveyance system integrates a physical plateform, composed of an electromagnetic micro-actuators array based on a digital principle, and control strategies which ensure an optimal functioning.
Bio-physicochemistry of tropical clouds at Maïdo (La Réunion Island): processes and impacts on secondary organic aerosols formation – BIO-MAIDO
The tropical environment of the island of La Réunion presents optimal conditions for studying the formation of SOA: (1) many biogenic compounds, SOA precursors, are emitted in large quantities and strong sunlight and high temperature promote their chemical transformations; (2) due to the high occurrence of clouds on slope, this site allows assessing the influence of aqueous processes in the formation of SOA.
Non-Fullerene-Acceptor based polymer solar cells with 15% efficiency and 10-year lifetime – NFA-15
Polymer solar cells have seen a performance gain of 6% to 13% between 2015 and 2017 thanks to the use of non fullerene acceptors (NFAs). The NFA-15 project aims to develop new NFAs and an approach based on ternary blends to achieve 15% performance at laboratory level. In addition, a transfer of NFA technology at the industrial level is targeted to obtain modules at 10%, i.e. 8-9% after stabilization, and a lifetime of 7 to 10 years.
For WATER Quality Monitoring – 4WATER
This project aims at developing a first generation (proof of concept) of low cost water quality sensors based on carbon nanotube field effect transistors. We will first target the measurement of the pH, as well as the concentration of dissolved oxygen, NH4+ and NO3-.
New Atomic Layer Deposition Route for Boron Nitride Thin Films – ALaDiN
A new ALD approach for BN is developed based on the chemical route of polymer-derived ceramics. It consists of 2 steps: (1) ALD deposition of a pre-polymer film with a controlled thickness, (2) post-treatment to convert the ALD deposit into BN. This process allows the fabrication of Van der Waals BN/C heterostructures as well as highly crystallized BN nanostructures. The latter have proven to be very interesting for water purification.

Photochromic Inorganic Fluorides – PRIDE
Photochromic inorganic oxides or fluorides are able to indicate the UV dose received by their color change under irradiation. This will involve moving from proof of concept on a particular chemical composition to paints that can be used as UV dose indicators.
Identification of key regulators of legume seed adaptation to environmental fluctuations – REGULEG
Instability of legume seed yield and protein content due to environmental fluctuations, in particular drought and high temperature limits their wide adoption in Europe, and breeding for stabilized nutritional quality and yield is needed. Producing highly vigorous seeds is an additional key lever to increase crop production efficiency. Mitigation of climate change effects on legume seed physiological quality and composition represents thus a major and urgent challenge for the seed industry.
