Self-sufficient Integrated Multi-Trophic AquaPonic systems for improving food production sustainability and brackish water use and recycling – SIMTAP
Define, design, set up and test an innovative food production system that drastically reduce, on one side, the required fish feed inputs and the consumption of resources, and, on the other side, the production of waste and pollution.
Self-organized multifunctional multi-material structures for LED lighting – SMARtLEDS
In LED devices, many photons emitted by the source are not part of the final produced light due to internal reflective effects which trap them inside the luminescent coating associate to the device. These effects can be reduced through the surface patterning of coatings. The classical patterning methods offer great performances but are expensive and not suited for a large-scale use. This is why this project aims to develop ZnO/phosphor composite structures as a low cost and green alternative.
Self-monitoring of language in production – SLIP
This project aims at uncovering the cognitive and neural bases of the process whereby speakers inspect their own speech for errors both during speech planning (internal monitoring) and articulation (external monitoring) at different linguistic levels (ranging from semantics to articulation). There theoretical accounts will be systematically assessed: comprehension-based monitoring, internal modelling based monitoring and conflict-based monitoring.
Self-assembled printable hydrogels from biocompatible amphiphiles for tissue engineering – SELFAMPHI
Recent work shows the properties of self-assembly into fibrils and bilayers of biological surfactants. These molecules form hydrogels. These materials are an interesting alternative to matrices commonly developed from molecules of synthetic origin. The objective is to find bio-based molecules capable of forming hydrogels, whose extrusion properties would be controlled for applications in the biomedical field.
Selective remote functionalizations of conjugated aldehydes – RemotAld
The project seeks to develop a selective synthesis of gamma-functionalized enals
Selecting for cooperative crops to develop sustainable agriculture – SCOOP
Agriculture must ensure sufficient production while limiting its impact on the environment. Cultivated plants sometimes waste resources by competing with each other, for example by growing tall to capture light, to the detriment of grain production. Crop density greatly affects the intensity of competition for resources and is now a limiting factor on yield.
