Towards Ligand-Induced Fluorescent Proteins – InducedFluo
The UnaG protein emits intense and bright green light once the bilirubin (BR) ligand is bound to the protein. BR is an indirect marker of various human liver functions UnaG is therefore a promising direct medical tool to track liver disease as well as a probe to detect cardiovascular diseases. The project aims to model this new class to understand its electronic, spectral, and conformational properties as well as to design new ligands or mutants enlarging the possible applications.
A-site Manganites for mAgNetoelectrics and mulTiferroics from extreme conditionS – AMANTS
The hypotheses underpinning this AMANTS project are 1) that a variety of novel A-site based Mn oxide perovskites and related phases can be recovered from high pressure synthesis, and that these new materials will have interesting and potentially useful properties. And 2) that the new playground of “hard-soft” synthesis has an important role on the new A-site Mn2+ materials by modifying their anion lattices.
Manipulating energy signaling to improve biofuel production in photosynthetic eukaryotes – SIGNAUXBIONRJ
THE SIGNAUX-BIONRJ project aimed at investingating how manipulating energy signaling could improve biofuel production in photosynthetic eukaryotes, iparticularly microalgae
Genomics of invasion of the ladybug Harmonia axyridis – GANDHI
The ladybug Harmonia axyridis, an emblematic insect species to study color polymorphism, has emerged as a model species to study biological invasions. We will use complementary approaches (cf. modelling, statistical methods, genomics, experimental and functional analyses) to characterize the molecular footprints of adaptations that promoted the successful worldwide invasion of this species.
PHOTOASSISTED PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN FROM UREA OXIDATION – HYUREA
The objective of HYUREA is to develop a photoelectrochemical reactor (PER) using solar energy for urea degradation coupled with H2 production (energy carrier) according to:
CO(NH2)2 + H2O + h?-solar + ?V-electrochemical --> CO2 + N2 + 3 H2.
This project is a break with curative treatments of wastewater treatment plants where nitrogen is difficult to treat. It integrates a nitrogen elimination at the source and allows a production of storable H2.
Structural Mass Spectrometry to study the interplay between proteasome complexes regulation mechanisms – ProteasoRegMS
The proteasome is an essential multi-enzymatic complex responsible for the correct recycling of proteins that could be deleterious to the cell. Its proteolytic activity is thus tightly regulated by different mechanisms. In this project we aim at better understanding the interplay between these mechanisms, using innovative Mass Spectrometry approaches and in the context of Irritable Bowel Diseases.
Adaptive Stereovision Systems in Man, Monkey and Machine – 3D3M
The 3D3M project is an interdisciplinary project (modeling, neuroimaging and psychophysical measurements in humans and in macaques) which validated the hypothesis according to which spatial regularities (and in particular 3D regularities) within the visual environment influence brain processing and perception in human and non-human primates.
Decentralized Knowledge Graphs – DeKaloG
Knowledge Graphs (KGs) penetrate our everyday life, telling us what to buy, what to learn, etc. Major companies maintain Knowledge Graphs to power voice assistants and search engines. However, access to these KGs is restricted and the way they are built and maintained is not transparent. This restricted access and the lack of transparency do not allow to build new KGs or to build on top of them. DeKaloG encourages the growth of a public and decentralized web of Knowledge Graphs.
Self-sufficient Integrated Multi-Trophic AquaPonic systems for improving food production sustainability and brackish water use and recycling – SIMTAP
Define, design, set up and test an innovative food production system that drastically reduce, on one side, the required fish feed inputs and the consumption of resources, and, on the other side, the production of waste and pollution.
The impact of artisanal mining : Evidence from Sub-Saharan African countries – ArtiMining
of Sub-Saharan African countries from 2000 to 2021. This project proposes to collect exhaustive information
