MArs Geophysical InSight – MAGIS
InSight is the first mission ever sent to an extra-terrestrial body (Mars) to enable the breakthroughs obtained on Earth after the 1889 first quake observation made by von Reuber-Pacshwitz which leads to the discovery of the Moho and core mantle boundary respectively by Mohorovicic, in 1910 and Oldham, in 1906. Its goal: just performing the first step of surface geophysics on the Red Planet with SEIS, the higly sensitive seismometer of the mission.
ARCHI-SEC: Micro-Architectural Security – ARCHI-SEC
Security Analysis at Micro-Architectural level
Towards visual reasoning in deep learning – VISA DEEP
In the last decade, Machine Learning and Deep Learning have been at the heart of a technological and scientific revolution. It is a rebirth for Artificial Intelligence with huge advances in automatic translation, audio understanding and computer vision. Driven by these breakthroughs, many application fields are concerned. They involve complex reasoning tasks.<br />L. Bottou discusses several approaches to implement machine reasoning. Following his comments on differences between first order logic reasoning, probabilistic reasoning and others, in this AI chair project, we are focusing on trainable reasoning systems suitable for visual understanding tasks.
PARAsitoid based DEcision tools for insecticide use reduction against grape and wheat agrosystem pests – PARADE
Biological control by natural enemies’ conservation against insect pests, as the European grape-berry moths and the cereal aphids, is a promising strategy. Farmers are more and more aware of the important role that natural enemies may play on the control of crop pests. Developing decision support tools based on an early and efficient assessment of in-field parasitism rate of these pests will support them to reduce insecticides by preserving and improving the natural pest regulation.
SImulations with high-order schemes of tranSport and TurbulencE in a tokaMak – SISTEM
Simulations with high-order schemes of tranSport and TurbulencE in tokaMak
Confined Lewis Acid/Base – Co-LAB
Use of endohedral functionalized molecular cavity to create frustrated Lewis pairs
A risky market? The emergence of predictive maintenance of military systems in France – PREDICT-OP
Predict Op studies the emergence of digital data markets in the military domain from a dual perspective of economic sociology and organizational sociology. This concerns both the predictive maintenance of equipment, the «soldier of the future« and the construction of an infrastructure capable of supporting the transmission of massive data (data center, etc.).
Chiral Cyclic Alkyl Amino Carbenes in Asymmetric Catalysis – ChiCAAC
The CiCAAC project involves the development of a new class of chiral carbenic ligands and their associated complexes for asymmetric catalysis.
Thermal Deformations of Concrete: predictive modeling for tailored design and adaptation – THEDESCO
Modeling strategies that can describe the peculiar thermal response of cement-based materials from the underlying physics will represent an advance in the field by enhancing the confidence on the predictions of the performance and durability of cement-based materials. Also, the knowledge obtained from modelling can be used to advance in the design cement-based materials with tailored thermal properties, following the example of the research on other micro- and mesoporous materials.
Fluorinated Ligands Approach for the Inhibition of Rotamases – F-LAIR
Fluorinated peptide and pseudopeptide ligands of the Pin1 PPIase will allow both to inhibit this enzyme and to decipher its mechanism of action.
