LOw-dimensional ferromagnetic units towards ValuablE Magneto-Electrics – LOVE-ME
We propose an original and thoughtful approach for designing magnetoelectric properties in inorganic compounds, dealing with low dimensional ferromagnetic units (0D blocks, 1D chains, 2D layers) and their alignment under field through metamagnetic transitions. Our candidates possess collinear or canted macrospins of high spin magnetic cations (M = Fe2+, Co2+, Mn2+), separated by non-magnetic and electrical insulating spacers or large cations building up the insulating properties.

Perception and Handling enabled by Artificial tactile SEnsing – Phase
Touch sensors inspired by human perception.
Bioinspired Structural Ceramic Composite – BICuIT
Developing bioinspired ceramic composites that are less brittle than conventional ceramics
A new methodology for efficient reduced basis reliability based design – ReBReD
Numerical developments to make reliability analysis more accessible in terms of computing time.
Using the most powerful explosion as probes of the high-redshift Universe – BEaPro
Thanks to their exceptional brightness, the afterglows of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can be used as extra-galactic background sources capable of unveiling the properties of the universe at different redshifts. The class of long GRBs (LGRB) is associated with the collapse of the most massive stars, making them a tool to investigate star formation in the early Universe.
Voter turnout, abstention, mistrust and political toughening in France: comparative case studies – ALCoV
The objective of the ALCoV survey is to study the logic of relationships to politics and electoral choices using a longitudinal and localized qualitative approach to electoral behavior.
Insecurity and spaces: social distribution and political participation – INSOCPOL
Crime-related insecurity is a major is-sue in political debates and public policies. Our goal is to show how this insecurity varies across spaces. The Paris Region is a suitable ground for such a project: victimisation rates and indicators of feelings of insecurity are higher there than their nationwide average and it includes a wide range of different spaces.
Super-resolution imaging of bacterial division – DIVinHD
Using complementary cellular and structural biology approaches, the DIVinHD project has provided information that allowed to better understand how, at the molecular scale, the assembly and activity of the cell wall synthesis machineries contribute to cell morphogenesis and division in the human pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae. These studies have thus provided new and necessary knowledge for the discovery of new antibiotics.
