Vivre en communauté traditionnelle à Rapa. Analyser et mesurer la qualité de vie en situation d’isolat – Qualirapa
The question of ease and of life satisfaction made the object of many researches, from which results are very expected as much in public health as in economy, for the evaluation of the quality of life, the understanding of the springs of action and the valuation of the political choices, without counting lighting on the central question of economy which constitutes the notion of utility. The team of Daniel Kahneman showed that it was necessary to differentiate life satisfaction (most spread measure, principally answer to question «generally are you satisfied with your life'» which constitutes a complex judgement) and experience, that is what is lived from day to day including felt emotions. It offered a methodological tool called "Day Reconstruction Method" who allows to gather data at the same time on the timetables of the people investigated, their activities and circumstances, and on affects felt on the occasion of different related experiments. Various tries are under way to apply DRM in the poor countries, to populations not or badly taught to read and write. They seem to collide with various difficulties, especially methodological. Rapa island is of the completely exceptional interest of a population isolated at the same time French-speaking and well-read. Comparisons should therefore be possible with data gathered in France to populations living in deeply different conditions.
