PRIMA call for the Section 2 funded by Participant States
PRIMA Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda identified 12 priorities for facing Mediterranean challenges related to Water management, Farming systems and Agro-food chains. In 2018, the PRIMA Section 2 Call, funded by the Participating States, will encompass all priorities except the three of them addressed in Section 1, i.e. the following 9 topics and the cross cutting issues among them :
- Water resources availability and quality within catchments and aquifers
- Sustainable, integrated water management,
- Irrigation technologies and practices,
- Adaptation of agriculture to climate change,
- Preventing emergence of animal and plant diseases,
- Developing farming systems able to generate income, to create employment and to contribute to a balanced territorial development,
- Valorising food products from traditional Mediterranean diet,
- Food Safety in local food chains,
- Implications of dietary shifts and sustainable diets for the Med populations and food industry.
The total estimated budget for this call for projects is € 32 million. The ANR will finance the French teams on the 9 themes above.
Consortia must include at least three legal entities established in three different countries considered as Participating States, out of which:
- at least one must be established in a EU Member State or a third country associated to Horizon 2020 participating in PRIMA and not being a MPC (Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain)
- at least one must be established in a third country non-EU Participating State bordering the Mediterranean Sea (MPC) considered as a Participating State (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey)
