Sustainable Land Transport
The Sustainable Land Transport (SLT) programme is an evolution of the former Land Transport vehicle (LTV) programme. The SLT programme is dedicated to research on elementary knowledge for advanced technologies in the field of land transport. The SLT programme concerns every modes of land transport: road, rail, inland navigation and all their applications for passengers and goods.
While the former Land Transport vehicle (LTV) programme was focused on vehicles development, the aim of the new SLT programme is to extend to the interaction between vehicle and environment: infrastructures, other vehicles and users. It is organized in three related topics. The first is dedicated to engine and powertrain conception. The second topic is focused on global vehicle conception in terms of architecture, security and safety of passengers and goods. The last topic is dedicated to the efficiency of transport systems in terms of flow and network regulations, accessibility of transport modes and their productivity. This programme is opened to French-German projects within the Deufraco collaboration, and to European projects of the Electromobility+ ERA-NET.
The objectives of the programme are :
- The optimization of energy consumption of transports and the reduction of the environmental impact in terms of greenhouse gases emissions and local or global pollutants (regulated or not).
- The optimization of transport efficiency and systems of transport favoring safety, security, quality, reliability, accessibility and productivity.
