Franco-Japanese call for proposals on Molecular Technology for Functional Materials
The French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) launch a bilateral call for proposals in the thematic area "Molecular Technology for Functional Materials".
Molecular technology covers the purposeful design and synthesis of molecules and their specific use to create material with physical, chemical, and biological functions as well as devices using these materials in the field of energy, electronics, environment and medicine.
Three main research topics are included in the call for 2014:
- design and synthesis of new materials for energy applications, including substitution of critical metals, and flexible electronic applications,
- biomimetic approaches to basic metabolic and physiologic studies for energy production, and
- design and synthesis of new materials for environmental and medical applications.
Projects will have a duration of 3 years. French funding will be provided by ANR with a total funding per project of €250 k in average for French team(s). Japanese funding provided by JST will be within the framework of FY2014 Strategic International Research Cooperative Program (SICP), with each project funded to receive up to JPY 30 million in total for Japanese team(s).
