CE03 - Interactions Humains-Environnement

Risks - Evacuations - Resilience – RER

Submission summary

After the floods in the Paris metropolitan area and in a context of environmental changes, this project aims to overcome the impediments to the integration of populations, their behaviors, mobilities, needs and representations in the assessments of vulnerability and resilience of metropolitan regions. This interdisciplinary project relies on cross-methodologies and interactive rendering. A survey aims to map at different scales representations and "predict" behaviors by territories and demographic profiles. An Agent-Based Simulation Modeling of crises follows up, to anticipate spontaneous departures or refusals of evacuation place by place and by socio-demographic profiles, the geography of congestion, as well as the times and conditions of return. It might lead to better assessment of risks, vulnerability, resilience and improve the appraisal of the effectiveness of risk management and adaptation strategies in partnership with local stakeholders, while opening up European comparisons.
