Haptic device for machining tool path computation on multi-axes machine tool and robot – ADHOC

Submission summary

This project is designed to interface a haptic arm of entry-level CAD / CAM software for:
- Simplify the ergonomics of tool path computation of manufacturing operations;
- Instantly evaluate the kinematic behavior of used the machine tool or robot and correct problems of calculation of joint coordinate in real-time.

This project aims to introduce a breakthrough innovation in the CAM process of programming machines tools and CNC robot in order to reduce programming costs.
This project concerns a broad range of companies including a large number of SMEs / SMIs.

This goal requires the removal of locks:
- Adaptation of virtual reality algorithms to a CAD software using a based surface modeling approach ;
- Development of an economic haptic device or adaptation of a commercial haptic device with insufficient braking freedom degree;
- Filtering and smoothing of the tool path recorded by the devise, for an suffisiently accurate programmation of Machine tool.

This project aims to create a CAD/CAM development environment attractive to many customers, which will support development of laboratory activities thereafter.
