Deciphering parasite-specific factors involved in retrograde trafficking and virulence of Toxoplasma gondii – APISORTING
Decipher how the sorting receptor TgSORTLR and its cytosolic binding partners can play key roles for protein trafficking and sorting to apical organelles of Toxoplasma gondii.
Optogenetic pharmacology for the precise, biochemical control of cholinergic neuromodulation – Nicopto
The Nicopto project aims at developing techniques for the remote, spatially precise control of endogenous neuronal receptors in the living animal. These innovative techniques could change the landscape of our understanding of the roles of these receptors in neuronal information processing.
Experience-dependent control of both GABAergic connectivity of oligodendrocyte precursors and myelination in the somatosensory cortex – OLIGOSENSOR
This project aims at unraveling the role of synapses between neurons and oligodendrocyte progenitors. We will focus on the analysis of synapses formed between GABAergic interneurons and oligodendrocyte progenitors in the healthy and pathological developing neocortex. It may have important implications in neurodevelopmental diseases, in particular those related to myelin disorders.
Role of Zbtb24 and DNA methylation in late B-cell differention and humoral memory – METHYL-MEMORY
Life-long protection by the humoral immune system is supported by long-lived plasma cells, which constitutively secrete antibodies, and memory B cells, which remain quiescent in the absence of the cognate antigen. As both cell types are affected in patients suffering from the ICF syndrome, the elucidation of the link between the genetic basis of this disease and the immunodeficiency should bring new light on the physiology of these cells and help find new treatments for this disease.
Wetting on Real Surfaces : Dynamics and Nanoroughness – REALWET
Rain running down a car windshield, butter sloshing around a Teflon pan… Despite the ubiquity of the phenomenon, we still do not fully understand how a liquid moves over a solid surface. Real surfaces are rough, chemically heterogeneous, coated with molecular layers, or even all of the above, complicating attempts to isolate fundamental physical principles. We believe that in order to build a consistent picture of wetting dynamics one must first understand the wetting on real surfaces.
Fostering Uses and Usages of Open Sensor Data in Smart Cities – OpenSensingCity
OpenSensingCity aims at facilitating uses and usage of open data, whether static or dynamic, in smart urban areas. The results of the project will help application developers that exploit open data to better manage, search, process open data, including real time data.
Energy Diffusion in Noisy Hamiltonian Systems – EDNHS
The derivation of macroscopic laws from microscopic models has a long history and spans several fields of mathematics and physics. For one dimensional conservative asymmetric systems, anomalous diffusion of the conserved quantities is expected and the main goal is to understand its nature. Since our understanding of this question is too difficult for realistic physical systems, the goal of the project is to make progress for Hamiltonian systems with bulk noise.
Higher structures in Algebra and Topology – SAT
This project consists in new foundational developments of high algebra directed toward the resolution of problems in the topological study of field theories.
Propagation phenomena and nonlocal equations – NONLOCAL

Inactivation of axonal sodium channels: implications for excitability and synaptic transmission – AXODE
Na channels are primary determinants of neuronal excitability and alteration in their properties often leads to neurological diseases. In this project, we propose to investigate the impact of axonal sodium channel inactivation on excitability and action potential shape in the axon, and on synaptic transmission.
