NSF-ANR: Physics of chromosomes through mechanical perturbations – MechaChrom
Chromosomes are complex physical systems with disorder, topological properties, and driven far from equilibrium. We propose to integrate approaches of theoretical and experimental biophysics by two le
NSF-ANR: CELLULAR CROWDING AND CONDENSATION UNDER SHEAR FLOW – CondFlow
Overview. Cellular environments are highly concentrated mixtures of biomolecules where interactions are unavoidable. Most such interactions are transient and non-specific, but they may nevertheless le
NSF-ANR: Cytochrome nanowires: secretion, assembly, and function in ultrafast electron transfer by microbial biofilms – NANOWIRES
Common soil bacterium Geobacter sulfurreducens has a remarkable ability to form biofilms with high electronic conductivity, rivalling those of synthetic polymers. This conductivity enables bacteria to

Insights into the Global Research Council's Annual Meeting
The 4th annual meeting of the Global Research Council took place in Tokyo on 26-28 May 2015. During the plenary assembly held on May 27th and co-hosted by Japan and South Africa, the Global Research Council adopted two declarations, one regarding Breakthrough Reasearch Funding while the other concerned Building Research and Education Capacity's reinforcement. Michael Matlosz, CEO of the French National Research Agency, participated in the meeting.
The ANR joins the world’s major research funding bodies to support transnational projects on global change
During the international conference “Planet under Pressure”, the ANR signed on March 28th, 2012, in London, an agreement with 12 of the major research funding bodies in the framework of the <a href="http://igfagcr.org/index.php/belmont-forum" target="_blank" class="pdf"> Belmont Forum</a>.<br /> The agreement aims at funding international projects between the world’s major and emerging research funders, on the main scientific issues raised by large-scale environmental changes.
Launching of an international call for proposals in Computational Neuroscience
The French National Research Agency (ANR) is joining funding organisations: the NSF, the NIH (USA), the BMBF (Germany), the BSF (Israel), the NICT (Japan), the AEI and the ISCIII (Spain), to issue a 7th transnational call for proposals in computational neuroscience. The call is launched under the NSF “Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience” (CRCNS) program. The deadline for submission is November 27th 2018.
