applied Modeling and urbAn Planning laws: Urban Climate and Energy – MApUCE
The MAPUCE project aims to integrate into urban policies and the most relevant legal documents some quantitative data of urban microclimate, climate and energy. This will be applicable in all cities of France. These data are based on simulations of urban micro-climate and energy consumption taking into account urban weather, building architecture, social data and the behavior of building users.
alpha-v-beta-8 integrin expression regulation and its role in immune homeostasis in the gut – InteReg
TGF-b plays a critical role in maintaining gut immune homeostasis. TGF-b must be activated, which thus represents a major point of regulation of intestinal immune responses.<br />Expression of alpha-v-beta-8 integrin (avb8) by dendritic cells (DCs) is required to activate TGF-b so that it can signal to T cells. Furthermore, avb8 expression is is tightly regulated. However the mechanisms by which avb8 expression, and thus the ability to activate TGF-b, is restricted to this subset of DCs are unknown.
alpha-Trifluoromethylated Nitrogen Derivatives: Asymmetric Synthesis and Elaboration of Complex Molecules. – TFM4Asym
The development of short synthesis of enantiopure nitrogen derivatives containing a quaternary trifluoromethyl group is not trivial ans is still challenging for organic chemists.

Yield enhancement in oilseed rape – SEEDS
Cytokinin has come into focus as a regulator of biomass formation and seed yield. Free University of Berlin works on CKX genes and their role in plant development and yield formation for several years already. They could show in Arabidopsis that simultaneous mutation of the CKX3 gene and at least one other CKX gene (either CKX2, 4, 5 or 6) causes enlargement of the inflorescence meristem which leads in turn to the formation of more and larger flowers giving rise to ca. 40% more siliques.
Yeast complex trait genetics: beyond classical crosses – AcrossTrait
Over the past years, the budding yeast S. cerevisiae has become an important model for dissecting complex traits. However, nearly all of the yeast QTL mapping studies have used classical F1 meiotic segregants and novel strategies are needed. We proposed to explore and exploit an innovative approach, named return to growth (RTG), that takes advantage of the natural capacity of S. cerevisiae to reverse its meiotic progression and yield recombinant diploid cells.
X-ray backscatter imaging and X-ray radiographic system for analyzing suspicious items – DIRTACOS
The DIRTACOS project aim ("Dispositif d'Imagerie en Rétrodiffusion et Transmission pour l'Analyse de COlis Suspects") is to realize an industrial prototype of a versatile X Ray Imaging System, portabl
