Afin de guider les communautés scientifiques, les gestionnaires et les acteurs institutionnels de la recherche pour une meilleure compréhension de son Plan d’action 2023, l’Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR) a organisé la 7ème édition de l’ANR Tour du 6 septembre au 3 octobre 2022.
ANR and the Mediterranean region
The Mediterranean basin is a rich, complex and contrasting region. It has seen rapid changes in its history which show capital issues and lead to a series of problems linking demography, ecology, the economy and culture. Introduction to the research issues at stake in the region and to the related research work supported by ANR.
ANR funded projects "VANISH" and "DOMEA" participate in the Antarctic Raid
This “scientific raid” which has just begun is a scientific and logistic premiere in the Antarctic region which remains unexplored by land transport. It should enable to reach in a single operation the scientific goals of two ANR and IPEV funded projects, coordinated by Michel Fily, lecturer researcher at the Joseph Fournier University (VANISH/Taste Idea project) and Jérôme Chappellaz, CNRS researcher at the LGGE (Glaciology and Environmental Geophysics Laboratory) (DOMEA/Explore project).
ANR launches a Europe - China call for collaborative research in social sciences
The French National Research Agency (ANR) and its German, Dutch and British counterparts joined forces a few years ago in order to develop collaborative research in social sciences. This partnership takes shape through the ORA initiative: “Open Research Area for the social sciences”. In that context, a Europe-China call is open in the areas of ‘The Green Economy’ and ‘Understanding Population Change’. The closing date is 3 December 2013.
ANR launches a specific call for proposals on "Genocide and mass violence"
This call follows the publication in February 2018 of the report on <i>Fact-find mission in France on the research and teaching of genocide and mass crimes</i>, and fits in a global context still marked by this type of collective violence and the memorial of Tutsi genocide in Rwanda.
ANR launches its new website
The French National Research Agency (ANR) has completely redesigned its website and information portal – anr.fr – for easier access to content and to bring it in line with current usage.
ANR signs a protocol with TÜBITAK in Turkey
On 27 January 2014, in the context of the official visit of French President François Hollande in Turkey, Prof. Yücel Altunbaşak, President of TÜBITAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and Pascale Briand, Director General of the French National Research Agency, signed a protocol. This protocol consolidates the existing relations between both organisations, and provides for the funding of joint research projects between French and Turkish teams.
ANR to coordinate a new ERA-NET
The kick-off meeting of the ERA-NET FLAG-ERA took place on November 12-14 in Amsterdam. This European initiative, coordinated by ANR, gathers 22 research funding agencies, research performing organisations and ministries in Europe around a common goal: supporting the "FET Flagship" projects of the European Commission, in particular the two large-scale projects on graphene and on the human brain. With FLAG-ERA, ANR is now coordinator of four ERA-NET projects.
ANR-NSF French-American calls for proposals in the fields of chemistry and materials
In the framework of the ANR-NSF collaboration in the fields of chemistry and materials, two French-American calls for proposals will be launched in the Blanc International I programme which will open at the beginning of October and close at the end of January. ANR's and NSF's programme schedules are different. The MWN and ICC calls for proposals of the NSF are already open.
ANR-NSFC Joint Workshop on the follow-up of French-Chinese projects
A French-Chinese workshop gathering 130 scientists from both countries was held in Paris on September 19-20, 2012. The two-day workshop was organised by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and rallied 41 projects that have been funded by the two agencies since 2008.
