A meeting to strengthen Franco-Swiss relationships in the fields of higher education and research
On 29 November 2013, a meeting related to university and scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France was organised by the French embassy in Switzerland and the Campus France Agency at the University of Bern. In the context of increasing internationalisation of research and higher education, a number of representatives from French and Swiss higher education organisations were gathered in order to strengthen the already existing relationships.
A new agreement to facilitate ANR-NSF cooperation
During the French President's state visit to the United States of America at the beginning of February, Geneviève Fioraso, Minister for Higher Education and Research (MESR), presided over the signing of four Franco-American cooperative agreements. These included an agreement to facilitate the cooperation and funding of joint research projects between the National Science Foundation (NSF) and ANR. Since 2009, more than 40 research projects involving French and American researchers have been co-funded by ANR and the NSF.
A new call to encourage the formation of European and international scientific networks
The French National Research Agency (ANR) has announced a new call for proposals entitled "Setting up European or International Scientific Networks" (MRSEI). The aim of this new instrument is to encourage the formation of transnational networks coordinated by French researchers. Funding will only be provided for research networks that have specifically been set up to submit a collaborative project in response to a large-scale European or international call for proposals. The deadline for the submission of proposals for this first edition is 9 July 2015.
A project for a vaccine against hepatitis C and B rewarded by the French National Academy of Medicine
The Hepatibivax project funded by ANR under the 2011 edition of the Emergence programme has been awarded the Drieu-Cholet prize from the National Academy of Medicine for its progress in the development of a vaccine targeting the viruses of both hepatitis B and C. The prize will be handed over to Philippe Roingeard, the project coordinator, on 16th December.

<li>La structure des appels à projets <b>est standardisée</b></li> <br /> <li>Les formulaires de soumission <b>sont fortement allégés</b> : les éléments administratifs et financiers détaillés seront demandés uniquement dans une deuxième phase (pour les projets sélectionnés pour un financement)</li> <br /> <li>Enfin, l'ANR a décidé une simplification radicale de son règlement d'attribution des aides : désormais, elle ne distingue plus que <b>deux</b> catégories de bénéficiaires au lieu de trois : les organismes publics et fondations de recherche d'une part, tous les autres bénéficiaires d'autre part. <br /> Les premiers sont financés à 100% des coûts additionnels des projets ; les seconds reçoivent une aide calculée en % du coût complet (jusqu'à 75% pour une PME par exemple). </ul>

Doté de 800M€, cet appel à projets vise à reconnaître l’excellence dans la diversité des territoires, des acteurs et à accompagner les établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche porteurs d’un projet de transformation ambitieux, à l’échelle de leur site, dans la mise en œuvre de leur stratégie propre, élaborée à partir de leur dynamique territoriale et de leurs besoins spécifiques.

La 1<sup>ère</sup> étape de l’Appel à projets générique (AAPG) 2018 est close depuis le 26 octobre 2017 (13h, heure de Paris). <b>Plus de 7 000 projets ont été déposés pour 3 instruments PRC</b> (projet de recherche collaborative), <b>PRCE</b> (projet de recherche collaborative avec les entreprises) et <b>JCJC</b> (projet jeunes chercheures – jeunes chercheurs).
