A motor tool for language learning – MotorLanguageLearning
The common belief of a rigid brain structure in adult life had to be reconsidered during the last decade. Research has established that brain structures active during training expand while learning and return to baseline afterwards. The transient structural increase is thought to reflect “work in progress” within areas involved in learning. My main hypothesis is that other functions, as long as relying on the activity of the same brain territories, can take advantage of this “work in progress”.
A multi-scale and multidisciplinary analysis of the exact mechanisms of action of cell wall lipid virulence factors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis – MTBLipVir
A multi-scale and multidisciplinary analysis of the exact mechanisms of action of cell wall lipid virulence factors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Human tuberculosis (TB) is a major public health pro
A new methodology for efficient reduced basis reliability based design – ReBReD
Over the past decades progress in modeling, parallel computing and available computational resources made possible the analysis of complex, large scale models of increasingly detailed structures. On a
A novel therapy for terminating lethal cardiac arrhythmia with WAYLESS: Wide-Area Yielding Low-Energy Surface Stimulation – WAYLESS
WAYLESS is Wide-Area Yielding Low-Energy Surface Stimulation applied to the heart to safely and painlessly terminate ventricular fibrillation.
A role for shale gas in energy transition ? – GAZET
The use of shale gas releases less CO2 emissions than most fuels, among which coal. On this basis, an increasing number of top CO2 emitting countries that are endowed with large shale gas deposits pla
A ‘LEGO’-LIKE METHOD TO ACCESS MULTIFONCTIONAL HYDROGELS FOR MESENCHIMAL STEM CELL-BASED CARTILAGE REGENERATION – LEGOGEL
LEGOGEL is a multidisciplinary project built on the complementary expertise of three research teams specialized in the design of bioactive molecules (Partner 1 IBMM), the sol-gel inorganic chemistry a
AN INTEGRATED ROLE FOR CHROMATIN AND lncRNAs IN DEFINING CELL-SPECIFIC SPLICING PROGRAMS – EpiSplicing
The regulation of gene expression patterns, during development and in cell differentiation, plays an important role in cell commitment and the definition of cell identity. Many efforts have been dedic
ARIMNet 2: Agricultural Research In the Mediterranean Network 2
The ARIMNet 2 Project (Agricultural Research In the Mediterranean Network), funded by the European Union under FP7, is aimed at coordinate National Agricultural Research Programmes to strengthen the c
ASSESSING THE FATE OF PESTICIDES AND WASTEWATER-BORNE CONTAMINANTS IN AGRICULTURAL CROPS AND THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS – AWARE
Two main issues have a high impact in the agricultural food production: the lack of water resources in some European countries and pollution with pesticides. The use of pesticides for pest control is
ATTOSECOND ELECTRON DYNAMICS IN ISOLATED ORGANIC MOLECULES USING CORE-HOLE CLOCK SPECTROSCOPY – ATTOMEMUCHO
The radiation induced damage of a single deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecule in a living cell can occur either through the direct absorption of X-ray radiation in the DNA molecule itself, leading to
