Development of SUV39H1/H2 inhibitors for immune modulation and cancer therapy – EpiCure
Epigenetic regulation of gene expression is a dynamic and reversible process that establishes normal cellular phenotypes but also contributes to human diseases. Unlike genetic alterations, epigenetic
Femtosecond laser cutting and surfacing of carriers for corneal bioengineering. – SupCo
Blindness solely due to corneal diseases represents the fourth cause of blindness worldwide. Its incidence keeps rising despite prevention campaigns for infectious diseases, because of degenerative ag
Skin regeneration induced by cold atmospheric plasmas through controlled generation of reactive species – PLASMAREGEN
Despite considerable progress, cutaneous wounds remain a major health concern. Skin response to injury follows a well-orchestrated integration of complex biological and molecular events to quickly ach
Dental pulp cells for tissue engineering. – PulpCell
The overall objective of this project is to develop innovative bioengineering approaches, tissue equivalents consisting in pulp cells seeded in 3D matrices, able to functionally regenerate the injured
NON-ATHEROMATOUS AORTOPATHIES : FROM GENETICS TO NEW PATHOPHYSIOLOGICAL AND THERAPEUTIC CONCEPTS – NONAGES
Thoracic aortic aneuryms are usually asymptomatic diseases with life-threatening complications of rupture and/or dissection. Classical risk factors may favour their progression, but inheritance is pl
Genetics and Pathophysiology of Morphological Abnormalities of the Sperm Flagellum associated with human male infertility. Morphological Abnormalities of Sperm Flagella: MAS Flagella – MAS Flagella
Despite a strong genetic basis, only a handful of genes have so far been formally correlated with male infertility. We intend to sequence the exome of 150 infertile men presenting with asthenozoospermia due to multiple morphological abnormalities of the flagella (MMAF phenotype). We are confident that this project will enable us to identify many additional genes. We believe it will improve our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the biogenesis and the structure of the flagellum.
Role of the TIM and TAM receptors during dengue virus infection – TIMTAMDEN
Dengue disease, caused by four dengue virus (DV) serotypes, has emerged as the most important mosquito-borne viral disease of humans and is now a major global health concern. The molecular bases of DV
Thioamide Activation for the Tuberculosis World – Tea-4-Two
In previous reports, we have shown that small molecule inhibitors of EthR stimulate the transcription of the ethA gene, which improves the bio-activation of ETH and consequently boosts its antibiotic activity, both in vitro and in vivo. However, as expected, these molecules were unable to boost the bio-activation of ETH in strains harboring mutations in ethA. Tea-4-Two is based on the discovery of a new generation of drug molecules that main circumvent the problem of drug resistance to ETH.
Lupus multiplex families in the identification of new gene defects with strong phenotypic effects: from gene discovery to gene function – Lumugene
Lupus multiplex families in the identification of new gene defects with strong<br />phenotypic effects: from gene discovery to protein function
Tiacumicin B, a New Antibacterial Natural Product Lead Acting on a Novel Druggable Target – SYNTIA
Resistance to antibiotics is a serious re-emerging biomedical risk degrading the quality of life and impacting our economies. One of the most efficient solutions to fight resistances is to identify ne
