Demonstration of Ability to Establish the Mass Ordering of Neutrinos in the Sea – DAEMONS
Recent measurements performed in the neutrino sector by reactor and accelerator experiments have opened the possibility to measure the neutrino mass hierarchy (NMH)– a parameter yet unknown- by studyi
Cosmic Rays in super Bubbles – CRiBs
Study the impact on the evolution of Galactic cosmic rays of the turbulent superbubbles that are blown by the winds and explosions of massive stars in starburst regions.
Convection in planetary mantles interacting with magma oceans – MaCoMaOc
It is generally thought that in its earliest times the Earth was largely molten, owing to the enormous energy associated with its formation. On the basis of lunar observations, it has been proposed th
Observing the millimeter sky with the NIKA2 camera – NIKA2Sky
NIKA2Sky is a project dedicated to the observation of the sky at millimeter wavelengths. With its high mapping speed (5000 detectors), dual band observation, polarization capabilities and high-angular resolution (12 and 18 arcsec), NIKA2 at the IRAM-30m telescope will revolutionize our view of the cold Universe. NIKA2Sky is organized in tasks that share the same instrument, the same analysis pipeline, and are developed within the same guaranteed time program.
Optimal use of jets at LHC and future colliders – OptimalJets
The Large Hadron Collider operating at CERN explores the frontiers of our knowledge o fparticle physics. «Jets« which emerge from the high-energy quarks and gluons produced by the collisions are a major tool for probong fundamental interactions. The OptimalJets project will develop our knowledge of the substructure of jets, a field increasingly relied upon at for the LHC physics program.
Risks, Controversies & Vaccinations – RISCOVAC
During the last two centuries, vaccination has greatly contributed to the spectacular increase in life expectancy observed in developed countries. However, according to many public health experts, vac
For an Eco-designed cold chain – optimizing energy consumption, safety, quality and shelf-life of refrigerated processed foods – OPTICOLD
Optimizing energy consumption, safety, quality and<br />shelf-life of refrigerated processed foods
Metabolome of two major fungal contaminants of wheat: identification of new toxic metabolites – Newmyco
Fungi are frequent contaminants of cereals especially wheat, the most important cereal for human food. Fungi can develop on living plants, in the field or during peri-harvest period as well as during storage. Worldwide surveys demonstrated that known mycotoxins are very widespread in cereals ( about 70% of analysed samples). It is obvious that, beyond known mycotoxins, still unknown fungal toxic compounds may contaminate wheat.
KEY-ODOR COMPOUNDS FROM MILK RELEASING ALIMENTARY APPETENCE RESPONSES IN NEWBORN INFANTS – MILKODOR
Exposure of newborns to colostrum is the evolved way of preventive nutrition and immunity. Thus, empirical attention is needed on sensory events and behavioral processes surrounding breastfeeding. This project aims to understand olfactory mechanisms that articulate mother-neonate interactions in humans and mice. It capitalizes on the fact that newborn mice/humans are attracted by the odor of conspecific milk, with the goal to identify the odorants that elicit such early responses.
Metabolic Engineering Machine – MEM
Despite the growing number of chemicals successfully engineered in host organisms, bioproduction R&D is slow and expensive, as the process is mostly based on trial-and-error. To overcome this critical hindrance, we propose to implement a generic automated design-build-test and learn cyclic pipeline for the production of targeted chemicals. As an illustration, we will apply the pipeline for the metabolic engineering of a library of new antimicrobials against Gram-positive bacteria.
