Process for olefin hydrosilylation involving nanostructured catalysts – HYSINANO
The HYSINANO project deals with the olefin hydrosilylation process, producing functional silicone oils. This reaction is industrially catalyzed by a platinum complex but the catalyst can not be separated from the products. The objectives of the project is to find solutions to avoid this platinum «consumption«.
Developing eco-innovative chemical processes to valorise phytoremediation-borne biomasses – PHYTOCHEM
Due to industrial activities and accidents with chemicals, large numbers of sites are contaminated by inorganics and organic xenobiotics, which may represent health and environmental hazards. Pollutio
Rhabdomyolysis: pathogenic mechanisms of lipin-1-dependent disease in human and animal for therapeutic perspectives – RHAB
Lipin-1 defect is responsible for massive rhabdomyolysis episodes in children. The physiopathology of this disease is not elucidated yet. Lipin-1 is most abundantly expressed in adipocytes and skeleta
Shear stress-regulated interactions between von Willebrand factor and lipoprotein-receptor LRP1: basic aspects and pathophysiological consequences – ShearWil
Von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a protein essential for the hemostatic process, and regulating its plasma levels is crucial to prevent bleeding or thrombosis. Here, we investigate the role of the clearance-receptor LRP1 in regulating VWF plasma levels. LRP1 interacts with VWF in a shear-stress-dependent manner. We decipher the molecular basis of the VWF-LRP1 interaction, and if and how mutations modify this interaction.
Understanding the regulation of oocyte meiotic divisions: an in vivo molecular analysis of the "cAMP paradox" – OOCAMP
Understanding how, during the course of evolution, the small molecule cAMP is used in opposite ways by species to produce the female reproductive cells, oocytes.
Simulation of the Impact of Annex Gases (SOx, NyOx, O2 co-injected with CO2 during its geological storage) on the Reservoir-Rocks Reactivity – SIGARRR
The geological storage of CO2 will become a means for industrialized countries to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases. Nevertheless, various impurities can be co-captured along with CO2, some of which are highly reactive, others toxic ... Therefore, the question of their potential co-storage raises.
Attraction and Selection in Cultural Evolution – ASCE
One of the major scientific challenges in modern evolutionary biology concerns the existence of non-genetic heritability and its importance in adaptive explanations. In particular, questions regarding the relationship between biological evolution and cultural evolution have become fundamental in biology as well as in social sciences. The purpose of this project of fundamental research is to shed light on these questions by establishing a new methodology for the study of cultural evolution.
Light controlled spintronics using photostriction – hvSTRICTSPIN
In the fields of magnetic nanostructures and spintronics, the possibility to control the magnetization configuration by means other than an external magnetic field is extremely attractive. We propose
Social Cloud over Plug Networks, Enabling Symmetric Access to Data and Preserving Privacy – SocioPlug
Free online services such as Twitter or Google docs have come to play a pivotal role on today’s web, in both perso and pro lives. These services consume substantial resources from their providers, who recoup their investment by monetizing the data they obtain from their users. This business model favors large companies: user data and their exploitation are concentrated in the hands of few powerful players. Users have no control to contributed data, with a fundamentally unbalanced relationship.
Safe & Easy Environment for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders – SafEE
All over the world the increasing prevalence of chronic disorders and its impact on functional decline is challenging the sustainability of health care systems. Older individuals also frequently exper
