New (photo)initiated polymerization processes for thick, filled, reinforced materials and new coatings. – Deep CURE
The Deepcure project is devoted to photopolymerizable materials which represent the field of expertise of both LPIM and Mäder. The issues that limit todays the development of such materials represents the two major topics of research in Deepcure. This concerns thick and highly pigmented photopolymerizable materials as well as new photopolymerizable coatings with advanced functionalities.

Modelling and Supporting Web Search and Navigation by Older Adults – MISSION
The population aged over 65 is increasing in all OECD countries as well as the role of Internet. Accessing the Web for older people is a very important challenge, as it helps them to foster independence, reduce isolation, and to increase communication and wellbeing. Despite its importance there is still a lack of focus on improving the use of Internet by older people. There is a clear need of detailed process models that account for age-related individual differences in information seeking.
Measuring Divergent Thinking in Youth and the impact of culture – Medityc
The measurement of DT is one of the core issues of assessment of creative potential. Typically, DT tests can be scored in three different ways, resulting in fluency, flexibility or originality scores. Several problems exist with psychometric divergent thinking scores. The role of cultural variables in divergent thinkiing is a debated topic.
Making invisible powers present in the Himalayas – présencedesprits
This program of primary anthropological research aims to contribute to the renewal of our understanding of possession in general (including shamanism) through 1) the study of the various ways in which invisible powers are made present, including their many material representations (artefacts, ritual language, natural events) and 2) the comparative study of these through their variations and transformations in Himalayan societies.
KInetic models in Biology Or Related Domains – KIBORD
This project consists in gathering three teams of mathematicians specialized in PDEs and already collaborating with teams working in the sector of biology. We propose a detailed study of the modeling and the mathematical/numerical analysis of problems arising from different areas of this sector. <br /> The common feature of those problems is the need to examine the qualitative properties of systems of PDEs which are distinct from any of the systems appearing in physics.
