Morpho-functional Swarm Robotics – MSR
In this project, we are interested in swarm robotics, where a large number of robots with limited computation and communication power are considered. Our goal is to propose new design methods, with a particular focus on collective decision making using both morphological and logical computation.
Robot In-hand Dexterous manipulation by extracting data from human manipulation of objects to improve robotic autonomy and dexterity – InDex
a human world and fulfil the expectations as intelligent assistants, they must be able to manipulate a
Design of lightweight parts made by wire and arc additive manufacturing – BeShape
manufacturability of the part is ensured by the intelligent assembly of individually manufacturable patterns
Radiation dose optimization for X-ray guided procedures – OptimiX
The overarching goal of OptimiX project is to improve the overall radiation safety of patient and clinical staff by (i). developing novel approaches for fast and accurate radiation simulation, (ii). propose methods for optimizing an X-ray imaging device configuration to minimize the delivered dose (iii). developing radiation awareness systems using Augmented/Virtual Reality visualization to facilitate teaching, in an engaging and intuitive manner, on the behavior of ionizing radiation.
Capture of the operational Traces of the company’s actors to build human Capital and define the winning Processes – CaTCaP
Learning and evolution of actors' practices, based on individual and collective competencies
GRoups' Analysis for automated Cohesion Estimation – GRACE
Groups are a fascinating phenomenon. A 60 years long tradition on the study of groups in Social Science enabled to focus on higher level concepts called group emergent states. Cohesion is one of them. Despite cohesion being studied in several disciplines, a comprehensive multidisciplinary investigation is lacking. GRACE is a research project aimed at developing a computational model of cohesion integrating its task and social dimensions and also accounting for their relationship over time.
Social Choice and Social Networks – SCONE
Collective decision methods (elections, participatory budgeting, matching, comittee voting, judgment aggregation…), as traditionally studied in the field of (computational) social choice, do not take into account the existence of a network relating the decision-makers.
Generate & Learn & Detect – Detection by AI of falsification of business data with generation of tests on attack patterns – GeLeaD
system / human controller through subtle and intelligent falsification (modification or addition) of data
SEarch-oriented ConverSAtIonal systeMS – SESAMS
The project envisions a novel paradigm in IR in which the user can interact with the search engine in natural language through the intermediary of a conversational system. We refer to this as search-oriented conversational systems. There are several important challenges underlying this novel paradigm: 1) understanding the user's information need; 2) designing a proactive system; and, 3) evaluating this novel paradigm.
Bitcoin User Network Analysis and Mining – BITUNAM
In this project, we analyze the data of Bitcoin transactions as it can be read in the Blockchain. The objective is to study Bitcoin as a socio-technical system, in a way similar to what can be done with Online Social Network platforms such as Facebook or Twitter.
