Deciphering early and late stages of mammalian mitochondrial Fe-S cluster assembly. – FRATISCA
Iron-sulfur (Fe-S) cluster-containing proteins are essential components of the cell. Within the past decade, the biogenesis of Fe-S proteins has been extensively studied by genetic and biochemical approaches in bacteria and in yeast, and more recently in plants and mammals, demonstrating that it is a complex process involving multiple components. Despite large advances in the field, there are still many important underlying question in order to fully understand this very complex biogenesis.
Role of H1 and his partners in the structure and epigenetic properties of chromatin – ChromComp
the CENP-A nucleosome and disclose the specific features that affect H1-binding. Methylation of DNA is
Plant epidermis responses to invading cells – Invader
Our data will uncover common as well as specific features of these cell-cell interactions and will reveal
Zooming in on the conformational details of a membrane efflux pump – BmrA-NMX
We will seek to reveal structural features of the different conformational states of BmrA, an ABC efflux pump, using NMR, Mass spectrometry, and X-ray crystallography. BmrA is, as other members of the ABC transporters family, able to transport a wide variety of drugs. Multidrug resistance due to efflux pumps has strong implication in medicine because it is found from humans to bacteria.
Understanding how auxin signalling mechanisms drive leaf morphogenesis – SERRATIONS
specifically plant leaves exhibit interesting features for such purpose as they can exhibit a wide variety
Mecanism and regulation of DNA release from Cohesin – FineTuneCohesion
Cohesin regulation in space and time
Study of the association of microRNA and mitochondria and their role in regulation of neuronal cell death in Fragile X Tremor Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) – MITO-FXTAS
Fragile X-associated tremor/ ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) is an inherited neurodegenerative disease. We propose to investigate further the molecular mechanisms, including misregulation of mitochondria in which our partner, Prof Singh is expert, underlying pathogenicity in FXTAS. To achieve this goal, we will develop (1) novel state-of-the-art neuronal cell models based on patient iPS cells, as well as (2) novel animal (transgenic mouse) models of FXTAS.
Experiences of discriminations, participation and représentation – EODIPAR
The goal of the EODIPAR project is to assess the political consequences of the experience of discrimination. More precisely, we evaluate the individual and collective responses to discrimination in terms of political participation and representation. The main research question of this project is therefore the following: under which conditions is the experience of discrimination is politicized by actors?
Effort and coordination in the production of stop consonants – StopNCo
What stop consonants can teach us about the control and coordination of speech gestures
Rebuilding after an earthquake: ancient experiences and innovations in Pompeii – RECAP
Faced with recurrent risks, did Roman builders develop earthquake-resistant construction techniques? An international initiative, RECAP project follows a multi-disciplinary approach, calling upon the archaeology of construction, sociology, IT, structural engineering and geology, in order to determine the practicalities of reconstruction and the technological choices adopted..
