Résumé

The LabEx IGO is a network involving currently 20 teams from 5 research centers in Nantes, Angers, Rennes, Brest with complementary expertise in transplantation, cancer, autoimmunity, inflammation and infection. It aims at developing innovative immunotherapies.

The LabEx IGO research program implements transdisciplinary and collaborative projects. Between 2012 and 2019, the LabEx IGO has specifically funded 23 research projects through competitive internal calls. Projects are selected by an external Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) on the basis of excellence. Several research facilities are also partners of the LabEx IGO program and strongly contribute to the success of the research projects. In 2020, 3 ambitious joint research projects were selected by the SAB for funding and are currently ongoing. In 2022, the SAB has selected 6 new innovative and at-risk projects that will begin in 2023. To date, funded projects were very productive with 356 publications. The LabEx IGO also aims at promoting technological developments enabling high content analyses of the immune system and access to skills in bioinformatics.

Several clinical trials are/have been developed on LabEx IGO projects.

In terms of economical valorization and industrial development, 28 patents directly issued from the funded programs were filled (among them two licensed), LabEx IGO teams launched 5 start-ups and also developed extensive partnerships with local, national and international companies.

On a socio-economic point of view, to date, the LabEx IGO recruited 62 people.

A significant part of LabEx IGO funding is dedicated to support educational programs that promote the attraction of excellent Master/PhD students in the LabEx IGO laboratories and include support for lab training, annual workshops students, scientific seminars, and a biennial international IGO meeting.

Finally, the LabEx IGO also acts for dissemination with outgoing fellowships, conference travel fellowships and sponsorship of conferences.
