A Europe-India call for collaborative research on Sustainability, equity, wellbeing and cultural connections to be open soon
ANR is teaming up with Europe-India Platform (EqUIP) to launch a call supporting collaborations on Sustainability, equity, wellbeing and cultural connections, with the emphasis on Indian and European dimensions, in both contemporary and historical contexts. With a total funding of 5.5 million Euros, the call is expected to open in early September 2017. It will involve six European countries and India. Application deadline: November 2017.
A Franco-Mexican forum boosts the bilateral scientific cooperation
A Franco-Mexican Forum for Research and Innovation was held on June 10-11th, 2013 in Mexico City, in order to enhance the bilateral cooperation. The event gathered more than 400 participants, including 60 representatives from French centres and institutes of research and innovation. The French National Research Agency took part in the roundtable discussions on the funding opportunities for French and Mexican research teams, and on the synergies between the different schemes. The ANR also met its Mexican counterpart, the CONACYT. They intend to assess the on-going collaboration.
A French delegation at the second CREST symposium on quantum technologies in Kyoto
On the occasion of the second CREST symposium on quantum technologies to be held at Kyoto University on December 7 and 8, a French delegation will present the state of research in France in quantum technologies.
A meeting to strengthen Franco-Swiss relationships in the fields of higher education and research
On 29 November 2013, a meeting related to university and scientific cooperation between Switzerland and France was organised by the French embassy in Switzerland and the Campus France Agency at the University of Bern. In the context of increasing internationalisation of research and higher education, a number of representatives from French and Swiss higher education organisations were gathered in order to strengthen the already existing relationships.
A new agreement to facilitate ANR-NSF cooperation
During the French President's state visit to the United States of America at the beginning of February, Geneviève Fioraso, Minister for Higher Education and Research (MESR), presided over the signing of four Franco-American cooperative agreements. These included an agreement to facilitate the cooperation and funding of joint research projects between the National Science Foundation (NSF) and ANR. Since 2009, more than 40 research projects involving French and American researchers have been co-funded by ANR and the NSF.
A new call to encourage the formation of European and international scientific networks
The French National Research Agency (ANR) has announced a new call for proposals entitled "Setting up European or International Scientific Networks" (MRSEI). The aim of this new instrument is to encourage the formation of transnational networks coordinated by French researchers. Funding will only be provided for research networks that have specifically been set up to submit a collaborative project in response to a large-scale European or international call for proposals. The deadline for the submission of proposals for this first edition is 9 July 2015.
A project for a vaccine against hepatitis C and B rewarded by the French National Academy of Medicine
The Hepatibivax project funded by ANR under the 2011 edition of the Emergence programme has been awarded the Drieu-Cholet prize from the National Academy of Medicine for its progress in the development of a vaccine targeting the viruses of both hepatitis B and C. The prize will be handed over to Philippe Roingeard, the project coordinator, on 16th December.
