Five global initiatives have adopted the São Paulo Statement on Open Access
Representatives of five worldwide Open Access initiatives: the African Open Science Platform, the AmeLICA, the cOAlition S, the OA2020, and the SciELO, came together at the annual meeting of the Global Research Council which took place from 1 to 3 May 2019 in São Paulo, Brazil. At this occasion, they reaffirmed their commitment to open access to scientific publications by adopting a joint declaration.
The French National Research Agency (ANR) is a member of the cOAlition S which brings together several funding bodies to accelerate the transition to full and immediate access to publications issued following research financed by public funds, and supports the Plan S.
The Global Research Council
The Global Research Council brings together over 60 heads of funding agencies on five continents, leading global thinking about science policy, research funding and transnational cooperation.
