Adapting to symbiosis loss: uncovering new microbial associations in non-mycorrhizal plants and establishing their contribution to plant P nutrition – SymbiLoss
can play major roles mediating host adaptation. Plants rely on the ancestral Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (AM) [...] Indeed, there are at least three ‘non-mycorrhizal’ plant families for which the loss of the AM symbiosis [...] fungi capable of transferring phosphorus to the plant, suggesting the existence of yet-unknown nutritional
Plant - plant interaction mediated by microbial activity in the rhizosphere – Plant2Mi
Plant - plant interactions occur continuously in the rhizosphere and are likely to be modulated by a [...] microbiota. In particular, the host plant - root parasitic plant model constitutes a particularly il [...] which parasitizes Brassicaceae plants, including rapeseed or the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, are able
The physics of plant morphogenesis: dynamics and mechanics of the plant cell wall in the meristem – MechaStem
The role of physical forces in morphogenesis is widely described as an essential aspect of
developmental biology. Nevertheless the contribution of mechanics in shaping organisms is
still largely unknown. Building on recent advances from the participants of the project, we
will re-examine this issue exploiting new live imaging technologies combined with genetic
and micromechanical (atomic force microscopy) approaches.
Expanding the repertoire of STructurally conserved AviRulence proteins in plant pathogenic fungi to propose knowledge-driven plant resistance management – STARlep
The STARlep project aims at exploring structural and functional diversity among L. maculans avirulence (AVR) proteins to propose knowledge-driven plant resistance management. It includes structural characterisation of L. maculans AVR and their classification into structural families, determination of the plant proteins and cellular processes targeted by the AVR proteins and identification of resistances recognizing effectors with contrasted structures and functional mechanisms.
SARS-CoV-2 transmission in Food Processing Plants - Emphasis on meat processing plants – SACADA
Circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in meat processing plants
Symbiosis in actinorhizal plants: Microbial-plant signaling and cellular mechanisms of root colonization – SYMActino
Studying of molecular and cellular processes associated with the earliest stages of the symbiotic interaction between the actinorhizal species Casuarina glauca and Discaria trinervis and the nitrogen-fixing bacteria Frankia on the one hand and the endomycorrhizal fungus Rhizophagus on the other hand.
Plant –plant communication in the context of biocontrol and agroecosystems functioning relationships – oilseedPrime
will test, on Brassica napus, how plant diversity affects priming of plant defenses and shifts to reproduction [...] cue for herbivore attack. Upon egg recognition plants enhance their defensive-phenotype and shift to [...] reproduction and how such plant responses affect members of the food web on the field such as pests, their
ABA-dependent control of plant hydraulics in plant acclimation to water deficit – ABAqua
Plants under drought maintain their water status by coordinating water uptake by roots and transpiration through stomata. A stress hormone, abscisic acid (ABA), plays a central role in these responses. This project aims at exploring the ABA signaling pathways and their effects on the hydraulic properties of the plant, to elucidate how water homeostasis is achieved through communication between root and leaves.
